Liberty Hill softball hopes motto "SCB" carries them

Is it actually better to have love and lost than it is to have never loved at all? Liberty Hill's Charice Hankins can answer that question in softball terms. Hankins is in her 25th year as head softball coach for the Panthers, and despite all kinds of success, she's never won a state final - or state semifinal - game.

Thursday at noon Hankins and the Panthers get their shot. Liberty Hill (38-2-1) takes on Vernon for a spot in the state championship game. They started the season with the motto "SCB" - "State Championship Bound". It's their first appearance in the state tournament since 2012, but they aren't thinking about anything except winning the title.
