Texas women's golf team surges to No. 2 in the nation
Over the weekend the Texas women's golf team captured the 45th annual Betsy Rawls Invitational at the University of Texas golf club! It's the second straight year the Longhorns have won the tournament. The individual champion was freshman Hailee Cooper from Montgomery, Texas. She finished at (-9) under for the tournament 4 shots ahead of the runner-up, her teammate from Lake Travis, Kaitlyn Papp who finished at (-4) under. As a team, the Longhorns finished the tournament with 62 birdies. With the win, Texas surged to No. 2 in the nation in the latest Golfweek rankings with one fall tournament left in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to compete in the Cabo Intercollegiate November 2-4.
