The Heart Gallery of Texas is part of the non-profit organization Partnerships for Children focused on finding thousands of children a forever family.
The online portfolio is managed by Marilyn Griggs and kept running with the help of volunteer photographers that devote countless hours every week to the program.
"They put their heart and soul into it and they understand that this could be that child's only chance for a family... it could change the rest of their life," said Griggs.
The galley showcases all the children under the state's care that are available for adoption and serves as a key tool of information for adoption agencies and caseworkers.
"Before the Heart Galleries started the success rate for these kiddos was very low and now it's like 60 and 70 percent adoption rate," Griggs said.
Becky Kittleman and Maureen Petru are two of the many professional photographers that take portraits of the children.
Both tell CBS Austin the gig is rewarding especially since they get to make such a profound impact on the kids' life.
"I feel like you get their personality if they feel that you care about them and that you have an interest in them," said Petru.
"I realize how critical this is because some of the kids are older so that's my heart for some of these teenagers to see if they can find a home and not be forgotten," said Kittleman.
The Heart Gallery of Central Texas is always accepting volunteer photographers.
