Car stolen with sleeping 13-year-old Fort Worth girl in backseat
A terrifying experience for a young North Texas girl after a man steals the car she's sleeping in.
Nicki Howard stopped at a Fort Worth gas station and went inside. When she came out, the car and her 13-year old daughter Hanna were gone.
Hannah says she woke up in the backseat when the car hit something. Disoriented, she thought her mom was driving.
"They slammed into something. I thought it was my mom. I saw them just jump out of the car, and I'm thinking, 'why is my mom jumping out of the car?' And so I jumped out, too and I went too and I was like, 'mom, what are you doing?'" Hannah said.
Hannah says she saw the man who stole the car jump into a white mini-van that was following them. Her mom says the car is totaled and it was how she made a living driving for Uber.
