4 pit bulls to be euthanized after deadly attack on horse
COWICHE, Wash. - Four pit bulls will be euthanized after a vicious attack that killed one horse and seriously injured another in Central Washington.
Gruesome photos of the aftermath were posted to Facebook on Thursday morning.
The owner of the horse, Bill Haney, said the horses were attacked on his private property at Track Road.
In a separate Facebook post, Haney said four pit bulls attacked two of his horses Wednesday night, killing one and leaving the other badly hurt. The post received hundreds of comments from people in the community.
Haney said these same pit bulls have attacked horses before.
Casey Schilperoort with the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office said the owners of the dogs were cited, and that the owners said they would euthanize the animals.
