Viewer tip leads to capture of Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender outside Chicago
62-year-old David Sauceda Medina, who was on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, was arrested near Chicago Thursday night.
Medina, who was featured on our "Marshals Most Wanted" segment earlier this week, has multiple convictions for sexually assaulting children dating back to 2008.
"He got a conviction in 2008 out of Florida for a sexual offense to include a sexual battery against a child who was 12," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.
After serving a year for that charge, he came to Texas, where he was convicted again in 2010.
"He gets convicted in a court here in Travis County for indecency with a child by sexual contact, and that victim is 7," said Filla.
His most recent offense was against another young child in Killeen. Authorities say Medina grooms his young victims.
"He finds something that they have a liking to, whether it's an object, a gift, or a doll, and takes advantage of them that way to get comfortable with him," said Filla.
Medina, who has family ties to Chicago, was arrested without indident in the 600 block of E. Fullerton Ave. in Glendale Heights, Illinois by the Glendale Heights Police Department.
They received information from an anonymous tipster that Medina was observed at a housing complex on Fullerton Avenue in Glendale Heights.
Medina is in the DuPage County Jail in Illinois. He awaits extradition to Texas to answer to his charges.
