U.S. Marshals searching for man with long history of violence toward family members
Fidel Porcayo-Fajardo, 39, is wanted for allegedly strangling the mother of his child.
"She had made statements where she's been strangled by him on more than one occasion," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.
The victim had several bruises when she reported the violence and this isn't the first time Porcayo-Fajardo has been accused.
"This is his third time he's being charged with this type of violent behavior where we're dealing with assault family strangulation. This is something that happens within the confinement of his home, someone he's close to and someone he has a relationship with," said Filla.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and U.S. Marshals want to shine the light on a problem far too common in our community.
"We have these types of individuals in our local communities that have to hide from those who are bringing violence into their families," said Filla.
Porcayo-Fajardo is known to drive a 2006 gray Ford F150 pickup with the license plate HWR 4648.
"We do believe that he's likely here in the Austin area," said Filla. "He had a residence in Manor in the 13000 block of Briarcreek Loop. And we believe he's somewhere between Manor and Southeast Austin."
They want to get him behind bars before he can threaten his victim again.
"She's in fear of her life from someone who says he could kill her because he owns her, he's close to her. Those are statements that came from him," said Filla.
Fidel Porcayo-Fajardo is 5'6 and weighs 140 pounds. If you have any information on his whereabouts call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 512-800-4213.
