Authorities are searching for a convicted sex offender who's in violation of his parole. Ritchie Brown, 44, was convicted in 1997 of aggravated sexual assault and sentenced to 30 years. He got out early in July 2015 and is supposed to meet regularly with a parole officer.

"Ritchie Brown has failed to listen to that parole officer and this incident has something to do with his ankle monitoring system," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.

Brown is also required to register as a sex offender for life.

"Every year he has to check in with the jurisdiction that he's residing in, otherwise he could also be a sex offender who has also failed to register," said Filla.

Brown has a criminal history including six arrests and three convictions.

"It stems from two assaults, a sexual assault, and an aggravated robbery," said Filla.

Brown is 6'1" and weighs 190 pounds. His last registered address was on Springdale road in East Austin. Authorities believe he's still in the area and someone might know him by a different name.

"He goes by Ritchie, he goes by Richard, and he goes by Ricky. So, someone may know him by his alias," said Filla.
