Both Republican United States Senators from Texas, Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, will attend President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday.

While Sen. Cornyn's attendance might not be terribly controversial--he has acknowledged Biden's victory since December--Sen. Cruz's is another story.

Cruz, along with Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), has been accused of buying into "President Trump's lie" seeking to overturn the 2020 electoral vote by critics for his objection to the certification the votes before Congress last week.

That same day, a violent mob of President Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol during the certification process, overtaking police and entering the building.

As a result, there have been multiple calls for Cruz to resign, for what Texas Democrats call "promoting sedition and lawlessness by promoting Trump’s lies about election fraud.”
