Police searching for teenager wanted for N Austin murder

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is searching for 18-year-old Hector Gabriel Valente-Martinez, who they believe was involved in a homicide in north Austin last year.

It happened on Aug. 22, 2022, at the Citgo located at 1600 Ohlen Road. Officers responded to the scene around 8:05 a.m. and found two victims. Both were transported to the hospital, where one of them, 72-year-old Antonio Castro, died.

Valente-Martinez is described as 5’6” tall and 130 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program.

A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
