HOUSTON - A man was hit by a car after breaking down on the feeder road of the freeway and standing behind his truck waving traffic off.
Police say that around 4:00 a.m. early Saturday morning, a man driving a pickup truck broke down and came to a stop on the feeder road for the North Sam Houston Parkway at Hollister.
He reportedly got out of his truck and was standing behind it waving traffic off when a driver came along and slammed into him, pinning him in between her car and his truck.
Police say the area is well lit, so they are not sure why the driver did not see him.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and police say he might lose both of his legs if he survives.
The driver of the car, as well as another passenger were both taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Harris County Precinct Four Constables office is investigating.
