Police identify suspect accused of stabbing man in neck at San Marcos Christmas event
The San Marcos Police Department said it is searching for a suspect believed to be responsible for a stabbing at the Sights and Sounds of Christmas event in San Marcos on Wednesday night.
19-year-old Ismael Jose Facundo of Martindale is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to new information released by the agency, officers at the event found a festival-goer who had been stabbed in the neck near the basketball courts in City park.
He was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery.
"We believe there was an existing disagreement between these individuals that resulted in this incident occurring," said Chief of Police Chase Stapp. "The public should feel confident to attend and bring their families to the final three nights of Sights and Sounds and enjoy a safe and festive night of fun."
If you have information on Facundo's whereabouts, you are asked to call Detective Aubry at 512-753-2306.
