Police identify passenger killed by alleged drunk driver in SE Austin

Authorities have identified a passenger that died in a single-vehicle crash December 30 in Southeast Austin.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:24 a.m. on the southbound Hwy 183 ramp to Hwy 71 eastbound.

According to officials, a 2003 Ford F150 was traveling northbound on the US Highway 183 ramp to Highway 71 eastbound, when the truck went across the ramp, rolled over and came to a stop north of the roadway.

The passenger, identified as 38-year-old Corbin Sabillon-Garcia, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver, identified as 37-year-old Prospero Campos-Baldez, was transported to St. David’s South Austin Hospital. Baldez was charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
