AUSTIN, Texas — Authorities said 17-year-old Nathan Ockleberry died in a shooting at a parking lot in northwest Austin earlier this week.
Austin police officers responded reports of a shooting at the North Brooke Plaza shopping center, located at 12636 Research Boulevard, around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, they found Ockleberry and another male with apparent gunshot wounds. A third male was later discovered to have non-life-threatening injuries related to the incident.
Ockleberry was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:01 a.m., according to the Austin Police Department.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a disturbance that erupted when a large group of people gathered in the parking lot. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle after the incident.
