Authorities have made an arrest in connection to a FedEx driver's murder that took place Tuesday during an alleged illegal drug transaction.

The incident happened at around 12:33 p.m. at 1030 Norwood Park Blvd, near Hwy 183 and I-35.

Officers say the call came in after someone found the 25-year-old victim, later identified as Tony Lamar Huggins, lying on the parking lot with a penetrating wound.

According to documents, nearby people had already began CPR, then EMS arrived and took over the rescue, but it was too late. Huggins was pronounced dead at the scene.

After gathering information from witnesses, police determined a shooting took place during an illegal drug transaction.

An autopsy revealed it was a homicide.

The next day, 23-year-old Isaac Thomas was arrested for an unrelated charge in Bastrop County and later, the Austin Police Homicide Detectives filed a capital murder warrant arrest on him.

Thomas remains in custody with no bond, police say.

Detectives ask anyone with additional information to please call Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS. You may remain anonymous.
