Teen dies weeks after suffering injuries in Loop 360 auto-pedestrian crash
AUSTIN, Texas —
The Austin Police Department has identified a teenager who died from injuries suffered in an auto-pedestrian crash in South Austin earlier this month.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. on January 8th in the 3600 block of South Capital of Texas Highway, in the southbound lanes.
Police say 2018 Kia was traveling in the center lane when it collided with 15-year-old Jesus Servantez, a pedestrian in the roadway.
The driver remained at the scene and told investigators that he did not see Servantez prior to the crash.
Servantez was transported to Saint David’s South Austin Medical Center where he later died from his injuries on Monday. No charges are expected to be filed.
