One person dead after falling off motorcycle, possibly struck by car in NW Austin
AUSTIN, Texas — One person is dead after a motorcycle collision took place in North Austin Thursday afternoon.
It happened at 8500 N. Mopac Expy southbound with the Austin-Travis County EMS responding at around 1:34 p.m.
ATCEMS said an adult was found when they arrived at the scene who had fallen off of their motorcycle and was then possibly struck by another vehicle. The person was later declared deceased at the scene.
The Austin Police Department said it’s doing an investigation into the crash.
APD said all southbound lanes will be closed, and for drivers to expect traffic delays due to the investigation. ATCEMS reported this to be a “large scene” and said southbound Mopac will be closed from Loop 360 exit to Spicewood Springs including all entrance ramps and flyovers.
