Ohio man critically injured after running from San Marcos Police, into I-35 traffic
Police say a man is critically injured after crashing a stolen car on I-35 and running into oncoming traffic on foot.
The crash happened early Wednesday in San Marcos.
Investigators identified the suspect as 30-year-old Michael Ray Russell from Wooster, Ohio.
San Marcos Police investigators say he was speeding, lost control of his car and crashed into concrete barriers near the Posey Road exit. Russell then ran from officers, crossing the interstate twice before getting hit by a pickup truck.
Russell suffered a fractured skull in the crash and is currently at Dell-Seton Medical Center in Austin on life-support.
Police say charges are pending, if Russell survives.
