Multiple San Marcos women report men exposing themselves
Multiple women in San Marcos have reported men exposing themselves in public, two of the instances at the same park happened just days apart.
On Tuesday afternoon, Texas State Junior Jacqueline Yanez was in the parking lot at Purgatory Creek Park after a hike. During the hike she was talking to a friend about a tweet from another San Marcos resident who detailed her encounter with a man “touching himself underneath a bridge” on Wonder World Drive.
As Yanez was getting in her car, she heard the voice of a man in black Jeep call for her. “He was like, ‘can you come here for a second?’” she said.
As she approached him, she said he was motioning for her to look down at his waist. “He was half naked and he was, you know, touching himself and he was laughing at me. At that point I was shocked. I was like what the hell are you doing?” she said.
Yanez got in her car and quickly drove off -- but he persisted. “I could still hear him because his windows were down and he was like ‘get in my car, get in my car’ and I was like ‘no!’”
She said the man’s seat was laid back, he was wearing sunglasses and laughing while in the act of touching himself. “It make me feel bad about myself, I was like why am I being laughed at right now,” said Yanez.
Last Friday, San Marcos Police said a woman at a large HEB parking lot reported a man driving slowly alongside her and actively masturbating. Police said the case is still active.
In June of 2017, police said there was a similar incident at Lions Club Tube rental near campus. The description for these men and their vehicles vary for each incident.
Yanez tweeted about what happened to her and want other women in San Marcos to be aware of what’s around them when in public.
“I was lucky he wasn’t (on the hiking trail) and I was alone,” she said.
