Margaret Moore projected to win Democratic Travis Co. DA race
AUSTIN, Texas —
A former county attorney is one step away from becoming district attorney for Travis County.
Democrat Margaret Moore led the race for District Attorney throughout election day winning both early voting and election day.
She said she wants to restore the integrity of the office. She said the office has had a rough go in the last few years and wants to reestablish credibility.
"We're going to go to work hard, and we're going to do some things that I think are going to show the community that new leadership can bring real change and reform and I look forward to the race in November," Moore said.
The results mean there will not be a runoff and Moore will face off against the republican DA candidate Maura Phelan.
