A man is currently being treated at a local hospital Friday after being struck by a car overnight in north Austin.
Austin Police responded to calls around 11:31 p.m. Thursday of a major crash in the northbound lanes at the 10500 block of North Lamar Boulevard.

According to police, a male pedestrian was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a passing car. The pedestrian was taken to Dell Seton with "serious potentially life-threatening" injuries, APD said.
The driver was not injured and stayed at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement and the investigation. Police said intoxication does not seem to be a factor.

The northbound lanes of North Lamar were shut down while police investigated the cause of the crash, but reopened soon after.
