LCRA begins closing floodgates at Mansfield, Tom Miller dams
AUSTIN, Texas —
On Thursday, the Lower Colorado River Authority closed the first of four open floodgates at both Mansfield and Tom Miller dams.
LCRA expects to close the remaining games one at a time over the next few days, with all floodgates targeted for closing on Wednesday, November 7.
Lake Travis is now falling about 1.5 feet a day.
The floodgates were opened on October 16 after flooding upstream on the Llano River.
