Hundreds to gather at Texas Capitol in honor of fallen construction workers

Thursday, hundreds of workers from across the state are expected to march towards the state Capitol to honor the lives of fallen construction workers in the Texas.

According to a joint study between the University of Texas and the Workers Defense Project, one laborer dies in the Lone Star State every three days.

Leaders of the Workers Defense Project are hosting the event and will be joined by dozens of families who've lost a loved one in construction.

Workers from Dallas, Houston, the Rio Grande and the Valley are expected to attend.

The march will begin at the J.J. Pickle Federal Building on 8th & Lavaca at 4:15pm and march down Congress Avenue for a rally at the Capitol.

The rally at the Capitol will include music and speakers. The event will wrap up by 6:00p.m.
