How 'hipster' is Austin? The answer may surprise you
AUSTIN, Texas —
Think Austin is the most hipster-y city in the country? Not even close--at least according to a "hispter index."
MovieHub ranked the hipster qualities in cities with at least 100,000 people based on five "obnoxious qualities that people love to hate." The categories were: number of vegan restaurants, number of coffee shops, number of tattoo studios, number of vintage boutiques and number of record stores.
Austin finished with a hipster index score of 4.882, good for 42nd in the country, behind cities like Chattanooga, Tennessee and Toledo, Ohio.
Vancouver, Washington is the most hipster city in the country according to these rankings, with a score of 8.23.
