The Hays County Sheriff's Office recovered several previously stolen properties from around the Central Texas area.
On May 28, the Hays County Sheriff’s deputies observed a suspicious vehicle at a storage facility in Kyle.
Surveillance was established and management for the facility was contacted. Upon gaining entry to the facility, deputies discovered a vehicle abandoned and the storage unit where the vehicle had been seen was unlocked.
According to the manager, the unit was not currently rented. When the unit was opened, deputies discovered several items of stolen property in the unit as well the suspect’s vehicle.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division identified the suspect as 40-year-old Timmie Foster Reed and issued a warrant for his arrest. In mid-June, Reed was arrested in Austin and interviewed by Hays County Detectives. Reed admitted to numerous thefts in the Central Texas area. He is currently in custody at Hays County Jail, in lieu of $50,000 bond, for Felony Theft.
The Hays County Criminal Investigation Division is in the process of getting the stolen property back to their rightful owners.
