The family of a 14-year-old boy killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Slaughter Lane is calling for justice and asking police to file charges against the driver involved.

The family held a funeral for Daniel Tovar Thursday morning. As friends and family released balloons in the air, the family said "Adios Tony."

Tovar died in early March after he was hit by a car on Slaughter Lane on February 28. Tovar was crossing the street to get to his school bus, when a truck crashed into him.

Police said the driver did stay after the crash and called 911. However, the family says he did not stay -- and they want police to file charges.

Police confirmed Thursday the driver did remain on the scene. Police have still not filed any charges.

Tovar's father was also deported the day of the crash. He was able to get a temporary visa to come back to Austin for the funeral Thursday morning. However, the family said the father has to leave the U.S. again Friday morning.
