The Travis County Sheriff's Office has identified a diver who died after failing to resurface in Lake Travis on Thursday.

It happened around 1:14 p.m. in the Hurst Creek Arm area of Lake Travis.

A diver, working underwater to repair a broken pump for a private residence, was pulled from the lake by people in the area.

Austin-Travis County EMS performed CPR, but they were unable to save the man.

He has been identified as 38-year-old Sebastian Medina-Page of Round Rock.

While it is too soon to definitively determine the cause, TCSO says evidence indicates a significant tangle in the line Medina-Page was tethered to.
