Cool at School: Ridgetop Elementary pays tribute to David Bowie
Ridgetop Elementary students paid tribute to the late David Bowie. The end of the year choir concert was a reflection on the singers work.
Sophia Kramer is part of this talented group, "We are taking the David Bowie songs, the lyrics and adjusting it to our vocals and performing as a tribute."
This fifth grader quickly learned of Bowie's contribution to the music world, "He had a really big influence on a lot of people and a lot of people admired him, so thought it was pretty cool."
Students were taught about the late singer through their choir teacher. Fourth grader Wesley Lindelow is one of them, "I didn't know much about him at all. In fact I don't even think I knew his name, until this concert."
Alice Scott dressed the part for her solo, "I think his music very beautiful but it's very hard sing. I mean it's a little low, and we are children but i think it's very fun singing."
Singing while learning about a legend is what makes the kids at Ridgetop Elementary cool at school. If you have a cool at school idea, please email Chris: firstname.lastname@example.org
