Bystanders rescue near-drowning victim at Hippie Hollow

Multiple rescue crews responded to a person in distress in the water at Hippie Hollow Monday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Lake Travis Firefighters, STAR Flight and ATCEMS responded to the call at 3:16 p.m. at 7000 Comanche Trail.

The swimmer was assisted out of the water by bystanders, according at ATCEMS.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office Lake Patrol Boat moved the patient to Mansfield Dam Park where ATCEMS were staged.

Medics reported an adult male awake and alert but still undergoing treatment while being transported to a local hospital.
