Austin Police searching for man burglarizing homes with intent to commit sexual assaults
Police say a man has been burglarizing homes in the East Austin area with the intent to commit sexual assaults.
The Austin Police Department says the incidents happened in the Berkman Drive and US Hwy 290 area during the overnight/early morning hours.
The suspect has been described as a white or Hispanic male, in his 30s, approximately 5’ 7 to 5’9, short brown hair, with a slender athletic built, and possible facial hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or APD at 512-974-TIPS. A reward up to $1,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest.
Police say they have been working this case since December. APD would not say how many incidents are connected because the investigation is ongoing.
Officer patrols have been increased in the area APD believes the man is targeting.
