
AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department on Friday identified the man who was found dead lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds early Wednesday morning in South Austin.
Police say it was Terry Ray Fisher, 34. Officials say he also appeared to have been run over by a vehicle.

APD said the city's 54th shooting homicide happened just past midnight at the 2100 block of Burton Drive near Oltorf Street. Multiple 9-1-1 calls were reported about shots fired in the area.
Officers and Austin-Travis County EMS performed life-saving measures, but Fisher was pronounced dead on scene at 12:09 a.m. Thursday, an autopsy ruled Fisher died from gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma injuries. The medical examiner determined this is a homicide investigation.
Investigators processed the scene and interviews witnesses, but say they still need more information or video of the incident.
