AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police say a man was injured in a shooting that happened overnight in southeast Austin.
APD says officers responded around 1:33 a.m. to reports of shots fired in a neighborhood on Villita Avenida Street - just south of Allison Elementary School.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was given treatment at the scene by Austin-Travis County EMS and then taken to an area hospital. His injuries were determined non-life-threatening.
Police say the victim initially did not cooperate with the police. Investigators believe this was possibly a drive-by shooting.
