Austin Police Department Interim Chief Brian Manley honored the department's bomb squad and SWAT team on Thursday.

They are being recognized for their response to the bombings that terrorized the city in March.

The bomb squad was responsible for taking apart bomber Mark Anthony Conditt's explosives to look for evidence, and the SWAT team was instrumental in finally bringing down Conditt.

Conditt, 23, killed himself with one of his own explosives on March 21 as police closed in.

The recognition happened at 10:30 a.m. at Austin City Hall.
