Austin named one of the most traffic-congested cities in the world

AUSTIN, Texas — This may not come as a surprise, but Austin has some of the worst traffic in the United States--and the entire world.

In data released by navigation tech company TomTom, Austin ranked number one in Texas for traffic congestion in 2018.

We also came in at #14 nationally, and #180 globally.

TomTom says Austinites spend an average of 25% more time stuck in traffic than other drivers.

They also say the best day on the roads last year was Christmas Day, with 0% congestion.

The most congested city in the world is Mumbai, India.
