A single mom here in Austin completely turned her life around, from living on the streets to giving back to her community.

She credits her daughter and the nonprofit, Any Baby Can, for making a huge difference in her life.

Fatima experienced homelessness and got pregnant at 20 years old. At 21, she gave birth to a little girl. Fatima made some admittedly, unfortunate choices and was directed to Any Baby Can’s parenting classes. This was the point that changed the course of her life. She took to heart everything she learned from her parent educator, Mr. D. She vowed to give her daughter a better future.

Now, Fatima created her own program to give back to the homeless community she was once a part of. Every month, the Lettuce Lab Project delivers 600 fresh meals to people in need. She's looking for volunteers and donors for the next delivery. Reach out through Facebook or call Fatima at 737-270-3161 if you'd like to help.

“My drive comes from my personal struggle. I’ve had to go without food to make sure my baby had a good meal. There are lots of people like myself who do not have access to healthy food,” says Fatima.
