Austin man arrested after attacking his girlfriend’s son with a knife
AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for attacking his girlfriend’s son with a knife.
Deputies responded to a family disturbance call after a victim said his mother’s boyfriend, Jose Adan Gonzalez had a knife and was trying to break his door.
According to the victim, Jose was locked out of the house and gained entry to the residence by breaking in through one of the windows. Documents say Jose had been drinking and was mad.
The victim stated he and Jose then got into a physical fight and Jose struck him in the mouth, causing a cut in his lip. The suspect then broke away from the altercation, grabbed a knife and attacked the victim.
According to the affidavit, officials saw cuts on both of the victim’s hands, rear side of his right leg and a puncture wound to his lower left side of his stomach.
The victim said he was able to run away, hide in his bedroom, hold the door closed and quickly call 911 while Jose kept attempting to kick the door open.
When deputies arrived, Jose fled the scene and hid under the residence.
Jose was later arrested with aggravated assault with deadly weapon, first degree felony. His bond was set at $100,000.
