Austin ISD trustees approve new name for Reagan High School

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin ISD trustees have approved changing the name of John H. Reagan High School--a name which had ties to the Confederacy.

The board had two names to decided between, Barack H. Obama High and North East High. Their final choice was Northeast Early College High School.

Reagan was named for the Confederate postmaster general.
