AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department has identified the man that died after a shooting Monday in Northeast Austin, and a suspect has been arrested.
The incident happened in the 12700 block of Harris Branch Parkway at around 1:49 p.m.
Police say a 9-1-1 call reported someone had been shot at a residence. APD officers and Travis County Sheriff Deputies got to the scene, and they began to help the victim, identified as 47-year-old Eric Wilkinson, who received life-saving measures, but later died at the scene.
There was a possible suspect at the scene, identified as 34-year-old Darryl Brown, he was quickly detained by officers.
The scene was processed and investigated by homicide investigators and crime scene technicians and witnesses were interviewed.
Brown was charged with murder and booked into the Travis County Jail.

An autopsy was conducted by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s, which determined the official cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner, homicide.
This is an ongoing investigation.
