7-year-old boy found safe after being abducted from Austin
AUSTIN, Texas —
Austin Police say 7-year-old Isaac Salazar was found safe Monday after the car he was in was stolen from an apartment complex in southeast Austin.
According to APD, around 5:36 a.m. Issac was sleeping in a running car in the 1700 block of Timber Ridge Road. When the driver went inside and came back out, the vehicle had been stolen with Isaac inside.
The Department of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert at 7:30 a.m. searching for 7-year-old Isaac Salazar after they say he was abducted by an unknown suspect. Authorities believed Salazar could be in grave or immediate danger.
The Amber Alert included a picture of Salazar and the suspect dark blue 2017 Kia Sportage with Texas license plate HPV-9267.
The Amber Alert was canceled at 8:36 a.m. after APD said the stolen vehicle was recovered in the 2900 block of the S. I-35 frontage road. That’s less than a mile away from where it was stolen.
Police have not released a description of the suspect accused of stealing the car with Salazar inside. It’s unclear if an arrest has been made in this case.
