Forever Families: Michael
15-year-old Michael tells CBS Austin he's been in the CPS system since he was 3. He hopes this is the year he'll get adopted.
"A nice family. Some good friends. Just a good place for me," said Michael.
"He so deserves it. He's been in foster care for a long time and he's somebody a lot of caseworkers have known over the years," said Michael's adoption caseworker Amanda Apperley.
Michael catches on quick to the drills at Avila Soccer in Austin.
"He is a sweet, caring young man," said Apperley.
Apperley says Michael is family-oriented, smart and social.
"I think he would enjoy the basic things. Going to the grocery store, the mall, the movies and just being in a normal environment that others do have," said Apperley.
Michael needs a mentor to guide him through the teen years and beyond.
"I just need a lot of help with how to be a grown up," said Michael.
He hopes to become a mechanic with a good job and nice house, but it all starts with a family.
"He's watched his younger siblings be adopted and his older sister age out of care and he just wants a family. It would be the adoption of the year," said Apperley.
