Partnerships for Children is gearing up for the annual Holiday Wishes program.

Each year, the Central Texas non-profit makes sure children in foster care have presents to unwrap Christmas morning.

Thousands of foster children make three “wishes” for gifts and their caseworkers deliver them in time for the holidays.

“We make sure to get the kids exactly what they want so that they're able to enjoy the season like every other child-- go back to school and share with all their friends what they got for Christmas,” says Director of Support Services Marcus Cantu.

This year, the goal is to reach 5,200 children.

In order to get involved, members of the community can donate money, sponsor a child directly, or start a toy drive.

Holiday Wishes organizers say when the children receive their gifts, the reaction is priceless.

"A little girl had a brand new pair of shoes and slept the whole break with them-- would not take them off,” says Cantu.

The non profit encourages community members to get involved and make it possible for children already searching for a forever family, search no further for a Christmas present.
