US Marshals searching for man accused of choking 10-year-old daughter
Authorities are searching for a man accused of choking his 10-year-old daughter. Gilbert Luis Ramos, 34, is charged with assault-injury to a child for an incident that happened back in July.
"About 2:30 in the morning this mother receives this disturbing phone call that her daughter had been choked or pushed by their father," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.
This isn't Ramos' first assault charge. He has a criminal history dating back to 2003, with six arrests and five convictions -- including two for assaulting a public servant, and for driving while intoxicated with a child in the car.
"He is an individual who abuses alcohol. It's if not every day, it's where he drinks to where he becomes violent," said Filla.
Ramos' last known address was on Waxwing Court in North Austin. He's 5'4 and weighs 185 pounds and has multiple tattoos on both arms. U.S. Marshals want him behind bars before anyone else is harmed.
"This is someone that's being described as an alcoholic, someone that is drunk who becomes angry, and has now used that violence against his own children," said Filla.
