Carnaval Austin Back For Its 41st Year

The world's largest indoor Brazilian Mardi Gras will take place Saturday, February 10th at Palmer Events Center

Carnaval Brasileiro, which is the largest indoor Brazilian Mardi Gras celebration in the world, will celebrate 41 years on Saturday, February 10th at Palmer Events Center.

There will be performances by Brazilian artist Dandara Odara and her 7-piece band in addition to Grupo Massa, that is right out of Austin. Dandara will create samba-reggae rhythms in addition to frevos and trio eletrico. There will also be acrobats and burlesque dancers and Carnaval.

Carnaval's is one of the greatest events in Austin and the world's largest indoor Brazilian Carnival with over 6,000 attendees. The exotic costumes they wear that range from traditional Brazilian to getting a group of friends to all dress in a theme, which Brazilians call a bloco. Even though it’s not required to be dressed in costume, you might have a greater time if you are decked out as well. Face and body painting will also be available onsite for a minimal fee.

The VIP Samba Circle Lounge will be located in a private space behind the stage with a view of the downtown skyline. Pay just $25 and you will be granted a room to relax and easier access to bars with burlesque dancers, no-line restrooms, no-line bars, and a complimentary coat check. Doors open at 8pm and the music begins at 9pm.
