WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Speaking after the Rose Garden celebration on the passage of tax reform Wednesday, Republicans described what they felt Americans would see as a result of tax reform.

Sen. Tim Scott, R- S.C., explained "for the average family in S.C. – this is a real tax cut. I’m excited about it, because if you are living in a single-parent household like I grew up in, this could mean as much as a 75% cut in your taxes."

Sen. David Perdue, R- Ga., said "the real test is going to come in February, when their paychecks get adjusted and start seeing the real impact."

“This is going to be a present for them for Christmas,” said Rep. Diane Black, R- Tenn.

“Especially those in the middle income. That was our focus, that was our goal was to make sure the middle income got the greatest tax relief, and we were able to accomplish that.”

Sen. Pat Toomey, R- Pa., said constituents in his district will "see their take-home pay rise, and that means they have more disposable income for the things that are important for that family.”
