Austin Police, City reach tentative deal on labor contract
After nearly a year without a labor contract, the City of Austin and the Austin Police Department have reached a tentative deal.
Austin Police Association President Ken Casaday confirmed the tentative agreement was reached Thursday.
Officers have been working 312 days without a contract, which meant policies like extra pay for working overnight hours, no longer existed.
Details of the new tentative contract have not yet been released. This developing story will be updated.
