The Baseball State Championships continue this weekend here in Austin. Georgetown Gateway Prep played Wednesday, June 7th against Wall at Dell Diamond. This is the first time the gators have made it to the state semifinals.

Gateway's Head Coach Ryan Kjos, a former Texas baseball player, said after the game, "baseball doesn't always let you win. You just have to go out there and give it your best performance, and that's what we did today we just got beat by a better team and a better pitcher." Wall defeated Georgetown Gateway Prep, 5-1.

Wednesday afternoon, another former longhorn baseball player, Adrian Alaniz, coached his team to the state semifinals. Sinton returns to state for the first time since 2014 and faced Robinson at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, Alaniz's old stopping grounds. However, Sinton was unable to put any runs on the board before Robinson hit the magic number ten. Sinton fell 10-0 in six innings Wednesday afternoon.
