Jaguars motivate each other

The LBJ girl's track & field team is returning to state for the third time in three years. They improved significantly over that time finished at the top of the heat at this year's regional qualifier, clocking 46.75 seconds in the 4x100m. That got the attention of their teammates, the boy's track & field team.

In the past, the boys team competed at state in a different division. This year is the first time they will run a relay at the 5A level, and it's all thanks to the girls. "The boys took notice" said Head Coach Curtis Clay, "it pushed them to work harder, and they got on board."

The LBJ boys and girls relay teams will run the 4x100m and the 4x200m races at the UIL state tournament this weekend.
