Herman hits the road recruiting

Tom Herman made it very clear at his introductory press conference. He understands Texas football.

"I also want the high school coaches of the great state of Texas to know that this is their football program,” Herman said. “We're the flagship university of the best high school football playing state in America."

Thank the bosses. Thank Houston. Guarantee championships. Thank the family. Thank and welcome the former players. Herman’s checklist didn’t need to come in any order, but it’s what he did sixth on that list that he hopes will lead Texas back to first. Involve the Texas high school football coaches.

Consider Westlake quarterback Sam Ehlinger impressed.

“Coach Herman has a bright future,” explained the Westlake quarterback. “He’s the future of the face of college football.”

Multiple other Texas commits tweeted about their Monday encounters with Herman, who was on the road recruiting on his second day on the job.
