Anyone can save a life with Hands-Only CPR

(CBS Newspath)

Hands-Only CPR can save lives.

According to the American Heart Association, most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location die because they don't receive immediate CPR from someone around them.

A new campaign is encouraging people to learn this technique. Here's what you need to do:

STEP 1:

Tap the person's chest. If you don't see any breathing or moving, it can be serious.

STEP 2:

It sounds obvious but call 911. And while you're on the call...

STEP 3:

Interlock your fingers and use your hands to push down in the center of the victim's chest.

Don't be afraid. The power to save a life is in your hands.
