U.S. Marshals searching for fugitive who's been arrested more than 20 times
At 36-years-old, Eric Porter has racked up a long criminal history -- 22 arrests and 9 convictions on various charges.
"Arrests such as kidnapping, we have numerous assaults... family assaults or assaults, we also have thefts, and a lot of narcotics usage such as possession, resisting arrest," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.
His latest charge is a federal indictment -- possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
"He's facing anywhere from two to 40 years if he's found guilty and gets a conviction," said Filla.
U.S. Marshals believe Porter is in the area and may be getting help staying under the radar.
"A lot of times they start to use numerous aliases. They also try to get in and out jobs, where they're not really having to file anything based on a social security number," said Filla.
They think he may be in the North Austin or Pflugerville area… they're looking for the public's help to get him behind bars.
"There's many ways that these individuals on the run can elude law enforcement or stay under the radar. But eventually, they're the ones who get tired of looking over their shoulder every day. We only have to get lucky one day; they have to get lucky every day," said Filla.
Porter is 6'2 and weighs 230 pounds. If you know where he is call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 512-800-4213.
